In Vivo Counting Systems
FASTSCAN™ High-Throughput Whole Body Counter, 2250: The MirionFastscan whole body counter is designed to quickly and accurately monitor people for internal contamination of radionuclides with energies between 300 keV to 1.8 MeV. The FASTSCAN system uses large area sodium iodide detectors and the Mirion Apex-InVivo™ and Genie™ software to achieve low minimum detectable activities with count times as fast as one minute.

- Processes 30-50 people per hour
- One minute count time for typical operation
- Two very large 7.6 x 12.7 x 40.6 cm (3 x 5 x 16 in.) NaI(Tl) detectors
- Patented LED stabilized detectors ensure accurate results
AutoScan™ Option, 2252: The Model 2252 AutoScan Option converts any FASTSCAN Whole Body Counting System into a self-service WBC system that’s as easy to use as your local bank’s ATM. And just like an ATM does for your bank, the Model 2252 unit gives you:

- 24 hour unattended operation.
- Simple card reader and push-button control.
- Remote monitoring and management capability
- Adds automatic self-service operation to any FASTSCAN™ Whole Body Counting (WBC) System
ACCUSCAN-II, 2280: Scanning Germanium Whole Body Counter. The ACCUSCAN II system is a high resolution, stand-up whole body counter. It is designed to identify and quantify radionuclides with energies between 100 ke V and 1336 keV in complicated combinations. The ACCUSCAN II counter also provides information on the location of the radioactive materials found in the body through its scanning mechanism and the system’s Apex-InVivo™ software.

- Stand-up whole body counter
- Low background steel personnel shield
- 5 cm thick lead detector shield
- Scanning detector mechanism for linear geometry
Horizontal Bed Whole Body Counter, ACCUSCAN: The ACCUSCAN bed is a complete, turnkey, whole body counting system. This system identifies and quantifies radioactivity inside the human body with a simple five- to eight-minute count. The package includes a computer, a shadow shield with a computer controlled scanning mechanism, computer controlled signal processing electronics, detector(s), the Mirion Apex-InVivo™ counting software, factory integration and calibration, as well as installation and on-site training. Once the system is installed, it’s ready to use.

- Locates contamination anywhere on the body, including hands and feet
- Provides simultaneous energy and positional spectra for accurate interpretation of data
Actinide (Uranium/Plutonium) Lung Counter, 2270: Accurate measurement of plutonium, uranium and americium are particularly challenging when the lungs in question also contain depositions of higher energy nuclides such as 137Cs or 60Co. For more than 20 years Mirion has designed and fabricated the systems and components to meet this challenge. Mirion is constantly surveying technological advances that improve system ergonomics and detection capability.

- Lung detector positioner mechanism with six degrees of freedom
- Accommodates up to four detector crystals in two Mirion ACT-II™ cryostat packages
- Digital Signal Analyzers for high resolution signal processing
- Comfortable reclining chair for subject positioning
Lung Counter, 2275: Combination Actinide (Uranium /Plutonium) Lung Counter and Scanning Fission Product Counter. The Model 2275 unit is a lung and whole body counting system. For more than 20 years Mirion has designed and fabricated the systems and components to meet the challenges associated with actinide lung counting and general whole body counting. Mirion is constantly surveying technological advances that improve system ergonomics and detection capability.

Proton Beam Testing Cell
Testing cell for Irradiation applications: Cormet worked with The University of Manchester
Dalton Cumbrian Facility. University is having ion beam accelerators with beam lines and a
Cobalt-60 gamma irradiator. Cormet has built high temperature high pressure testing cells for
both the irradiation sources.

- Instruments for gamma irradiation and proton beam applications.
- The ion beam line will be used for the radiology and corrosion studies.
